Discover the writers search engines don’t want you to find.
Poems, stories, zines, and essays on sites people built themselves. Every result links straight to the writer’s own page. More about the project →
Longhand Almanac lists 124 comic artists who publish on sites they built themselves. 52 published in 2026. 2 have been at it since the 1990s. 114 write on their own domain. A site is filed under comic when its own sections and navigation say comic, comics, webcomic and webcomics: the writer’s word, not the almanac’s. Every card links to the writer’s own site.
Platforms are excluded from the index by rule. Neocities, Dreamwidth and Bear Blog pages are hand-written, so they count.
Earliest evidence per site. Front pages show the recent end of an archive, so these lean late; a writer’s own sitemap moves the start earlier when the index has read it.
Six ways to date a hand-made page, tried in order. 35 carry no date the index can find, and stay in.
Of the 77 dated on this shelf, 52 published this year. The tail is sites still standing with nothing new.
